As I continue my already successful career into new chapters. I'm noticing something; the blatant disregard for my expertise in those who have been in the work force 10-15 years longer than myself.
It's kind of annoying actually, because I don't feel like I know more than anyone, but I have not gotten this far in my career by being a dumb@$$.
Luckily, mama always taught me, "If they act like a child, treat 'em like a child!" HA. So when you decide that you don't like me just because I am younger than you, but you feel I should give YOU respect because of your age... THINK AGAIN!
In a perfect world, animals could talk, men would surprise their wives/girlfriends with flowers on a regular basis and all industry colleagues would respect one another regardless of age.
But, we don't live in a perfect world. So, unfortunately there will be times when those in your respective industry will treat you like garbage because you are younger than them. My view is this; if you don't need the younger generation to further your marketing or branding via social channels because you know how to do it all by your onesy then by all means, have at it.
You and I both know, you don't know what you're doing with the "new media" and need help. So defer to the experts on this one and shut your pie hole!
