Yeah, okay so how annoying is technology? Honestly. Thanks to the smartphone I am able to get work emails any time of the day 7 days a week 365 days of the year. Who wouldn't want that? But I digress.
Thanks to tablets and other devices such as those, kids can sit on their cracks all day playing games that do nothing but make them dumber instead of going outside to play with nothing but their imagination.
I am not against technology, I believe it is very necessary in moving along the world etc etc etc. However, I do think buying your 7 year old a smartphone for his/her birthday instead of a bike or a puppy is probably the wrong decision. You will wake up when that kid is 17 years old, 372 pounds and using an inhaler just to walk up the steps and wonder where you went wrong.
Sure, I get it, you want your kid to have what all the other kids have. But, have you ever asked yourself why? I mean seriously? What's the point in making sure your kid is like all the rest? I guess you want to breed little mindless drones who can't think outside the box. No? Oh, well I couldn't tell.
The problem with giving your child EVERYTHING is that you aren't teaching them the value of earning something. And you sure as crack aren't teaching them how to be responsible. Kids will assume things are disposable and "Oh, I broke my 800 dollar iPad! It's okay, mom and dad will just buy we another one."
This is the generation being raised up behind mine, and even is some of mine depending on who you talk to. There are more self-righteous entitled little brats in this world than it can handle. So knock those kids of yours down a couple pegs and make them play outside with sticks!
That will be all. Go about your business.
