Men who work on cars... We love them, let's admit it

There is something so amazingly attractive about a man who can work on a car. And I don't mean the men who look at it while in their slacks and a button up shirt saying he thinks he knows what's wrong with it as smoke pours out the engine on the side of the highway during rush hour waiting for a tow truck. I'm talking about the men who get in their work jeans and t-shirt, grab a giant tool box filled with sockets, extensions and giant clamps that are used to take off manifolds, intakes and spark plugs. Those are the men that deserve an ode.

I will not attempt an ode because while in college my teachers weren't too keen on my poetry writing due to the fact that I wrote in meter and rhyme ... if you aren't sure what that is, pick up any Shakespeare writing and you will surely find it. But I digress.

Don't get me wrong, there are all kinds of guys in the world; some of them have the ability to work on cars and some don't. There is nothing wrong with that at all, and when the time is right they will get their own post. But, right now I'm drooling over men who can pull an alternator off the engine, hold it in their hand staring intently until they finally decide it's bad and have to buy a new one.

They are the stoic men who understand that fixing it yourself can be a task but they soldier on because without a "do-it-yourself" attitude things just wouldn't get done!

We love these men, we marry these men and they are the backbone of the things that we women do. It is said that behind every great man is a great woman. Well, I entirely agree but I also believe that without the support of a great man, a great woman wouldn't have the confidence to do whatever she pleases.

So, let's take a moment and acknowledge the great men in our lives, because whether they work on cars or not, they are still our great men!
