Doctors... sigh

This morning I have a doctors appointment due to a sad little injury I have sustained in probably the most ridiculous fashion heard of. So to keep myself from further embarrassment, I'm not going to tell you what I did. Anyway, I have to get an x-ray to see what's going on and make sure I haven't broken anything (I highly doubt that) but what is bugging me is I have to sit in a waiting room full of sick people!

It's long been said that doctors offices are the cleanest places because there are sick people there... This never made sense to me because in logical world where most of the population lives, sick people contaminate a clean area thus making it, well not clean. By this, I must automatically assume any place a doctor is present will be the dirtiest and most infectious place to be.

Now that I've properly scared you from ever visiting a doctors office again, consider the difference between the ER and a primary care physician. At the ER you have a lot of people who have been in some kind of accident or have kidney stones, mostly noncontagious situations. However, when you have the flu or a cold and just can't shake it do you visit the ER? Nope, you visit your primary care physician. Just think about that.

Meanwhile, all I need is an x-ray to tell me if I've broken something then some sort of pamphlet telling me how to care for my sad pathetic injury and send me on my way. But, when I leave what will I have contracted? Flu? Malaria? Gout!?

I may be freaking out over nothing, but at least when *I* have the flu or some other illness, people should fear me! One cough and I can infect an entire family! But now, I am the one afraid. Do you think it would be too much if I wore a mask?
